This cover was created for The Granadaner, a Granada-based illustration project inspired by the editorial tradition of The New Yorker.
My piece is a personal reflection on the city I encountered at 18—a vibrant, cultural Granada where creativity burned brightly. It captures the energy of a youth marked by music, art and shared conversations across plazas, staircases and hidden corners of the Albaicín.
Sixteen years later, this image stands in quiet contrast to a modern Granada increasingly shaped by tourism, often at the expense of local life. A tribute and a memory, this illustration revisits the city’s spirit through the lens of time.
